A
new Junior Waterpolo Session now on Fridays (as of 9th September
2005) from 5:15 - 6:00pm
This is open to ALL current Basingstoke Bluefins members who wish to do Waterpolo between the age of 9 and 16. Cost £5 a month on top of your normal squad fees.
For Non Club members who would like to try Waterpolo please contact the club office on 01256 351 921 or email gerry@bluefinspolo.co.uk.
The purpose of these friday sessions will be to introduce young people to the sport of Waterpolo and teach the skills required to play the game. The aim is to initially build age group squads of various levels for competing and progression on to senior teams.
The Men's team currently competes in National, regional and local leagues. The Ladies team currently competes in Regional and local leagues.
The Aquadrome provides a great environment for playing water polo, with an all deep (1.8m), deck-level pool, with spectator seating, team changing rooms, electronic scoreboard with 30 sec clocks, and decent lighting and water quality, making it one of the best venues in the south of England for the sport. Home matches are played here on training nights, so please refer the fixtures list for home games. Spectators are always welcome.
The Aquadrome is located in the Leisure Complex (signposted), in the top left corner between the bowling alley and icerink, on the site of the old Westfield Lido. Printable maps and directions to the pool will soon be posted on this site, probably as PDFs. Until then if you require directions please feel free to Contact us, or use multimap for directions. Search for West Ham Leisure Park, Basingstoke, RG22 6PG. The pool is in the North-West - or top-left - corner of the complex.
